I was a bit nervous about using an online solicitors rather than 1 I could see face to face but generally I found that it worked well. I did sometimes have problems trying to get through on the phone in terms of calls not being returned. One thing I did find very unprofessional was when I called up sometimes & the phone was answered the person was still talking to someone else & I had to wait until they finished their conversation before they spoke to me & said hello. Very pleased with service, bit sceptical at first about using a online solicitor but Beaumont went above and beyond, completed in 4 weeks after a huge mess up by a estate agent and i had to find another property, constant updates, helful, always seemed to be 2 steps ahead of the buyers solicitor ( whom caused countless delays and which the Beaumont team cleared up and as it turns out a third of the price!!! i would without doubt use them again for conveyancing and other services, quite happy to say i will never use a high street solicitor again!. Overall I believe the experience was positive, however I did find it difficult to contact Kim at times. During the initial stages I struggled to get response to emails despite the service level agreement. Equally the telephone number detailed on the letter we initially received was incorrect and it seemed that Kim's voicemail was not working. It did make life very difficult initially.
However, when we had some issues with the person at the bottom of the chain, Kim ensured that she kept us up to date with all conversations that had happened and made our lives much less stressful. All communication received was very clear and concise.
Despite a shaky start, Kim really ensured everything went through smoothly and in our desired timeframe.
We would recommend Beaumont Legal to others and would like to thank Kim and the team for all the help provided to us.

Start to finish 22 weeks. It was not just the solicitors fault just about every bank, buildings society and so called professional that was involved let us down to the point of incompetancy i would now in future only use a local solicitor. We weren't even told by the solicitor it had gone through and at the time we were homeless and living with relatives. Don't use them the solicitors are given too many clients to look after properly and we were only contacted by them when they wanted some money off us. Not once did they pick the phone up to call us back. Email was the only way in the end.

Alan Marlow for Beaumont Legal did the job we paid him for but that is as complimentary as I can be about the experience. He was not remotely proactive, failed consistently to keep us updated, it was always me contacting him to get information and he never appeared to have a clue who I was or about our case as shown by his comments no matter how many times I telephoned. He failed to see anything through, over 5 weeks was wasted as he sent via post information to our vendor's solicitor which got lost but despite me constantly chasing he just kept saying well I sent it which was far from satisfactory! It was only after some heated words from me that he resent it via email. His staff were like work experience students and in fact hung up on the estate agent when he called. There was a rudeness and lack of concern whenever I spoke with him to clarify certain issues as not once did he keep us informed. The supposed system of logging on to get updates on your case is non-existent so expect nothing there. It was slightly cheaper than quotes from my local solicitors but what I saved in a few pounds I gained in stress and constant chasing via emails and phone calls. In summary says what it does on the tin but do not expect it in a friendly, helpful, timely manner as that was not the case and also don't expect any apologies for unnecessary delays on their part as they will treat you like you are an inconvenience. That was my experience of the process, others have surely had a better one as it was from here that I took the recommendations for the company and specifically that solicitor. I do expect customer service as well as legal advice when paying for coneyancing as it is a stressful business and I like to be kept informed on progress and not be messed about which is why I feel I could not recommend this solicitor or firm despite them completing the process for us.

This was the cheapest quote I obtained, and as the transaction was straightforward, I chose to take it. I wasn't looking to have my hand held, but I was unprepared for the poor customer service on offer. The two letters I sent went unanswered, and phone calls were answered grudgingly. One of my letters pointed out that they had listed the purchase price incorrectly on the completion statement. This was ignored, leading to their having to take a debit card payment on completion day. I would not recommend them or use them again.

peopole always say you get what you pay for - but when it comes to conveyancing that is not my experience. It makes very little difference how much you pay. My experience with Beaumont Legal was fairly negative. I didn't find my solicitor particularly helpful or easy to communicate with. She seemed unwilling to offer any help or advice on a conveyancing issue which we needed to resolve, and wasn't proactive in requesting necessary documents from the other party's solicitor. She appeared to only want to to do the bare minimum required to complete the conveyancing. I found the experience frustrating.

The sale did go through but I have not yet seen how much we were charged by the solicitors. When I initially contacted our solicitor I was unimpressed with the way he dealt with my queries. He did not reply to emails and when I called I felt he was offhand with me. When we started to deal with Fiona Firth she was much more helpful and responsive and we thought she did a good job.

I would rate the overall experience as positive. The sale went through efficiently and Deborah Booth was pleasant to deal with.
There are a few minor criticisms. Just as you want feedback so it would have been preferable to have got more feedback or response. In the early weeks I was completing and returning forms but receiving little if any feedback to say whether they had been received or how things were progressing; I had to ask and it sometimes took a couple of e-mails before getting a response. You advertise a facility for tracking progress on the internet but for about the 8 or 10 days after submitting intial forms it was not updated, though through Post Office tracking I knew the forms had been received. Also this feedback e-mail is not working; clicking on Positive/Average/Negative buttons does not work, or at least show any effect. (It subsequently worked when I clicked on the 'Cant see anything?' link.)
Nevertheless, overall the service was satisfactory and at a very good price, and I think I received better service than the purchasers, who used a conventional local solicitor.

I sincerely recommend this firm to anyone. At such a low price I rate their services as outstanding. Our buying case was dealt with by Alan Marlow, and the whole process from making an offer to collecting the keys took eight weeks.
My best advice to first time buyers: make sure you apply for a mortgage product you have the best chances of getting (even if it may not be the cheapest deal around) and try to work in a constructive partnership with your advisers by supplying them with timely, relevant and honest information, taking and understanding responsibility for all main decisions, staying in control without interfering with their breathing space. I was a little disappointed to find that the solicitors were not pro-active in pushing the sale forward and merely acted as an agent to pass on information. We felt we had to do a lot of the work ourselves and were a little frustrated by the solicitor's unwillingness to provide solutions or think logically around a problem. In a previous house purchase my solicitor gave me legal advice and opinion throughout the process and occasionally chased the other people involved to move it along quickly. the solicitor we dealt with was obviously very competent but difficult to communicate with and made us feel that we were bothering him. The solicitir also went on holiday for the week that we were due to complete without telling us. However, the person who took over was much more friendly and equally competent.
We were not so happy to have to come up with another £500-odd instantly in order to complete on the actual day of moving, without any prior warning, and i don't know what would have happened if we hadn't had the money to hand.

The conveyancing was carried out in good time. It was annoying that the payments had to be made from an account in the name of the purchaser as it meant that we had to make internal transfers of funds instead of a single BACS/CHAPS payment from a different named account. Beaumont Legal were also slow in sending the documents once the purchase was completed.
